From Death to Life: Resurrection Power NOW!

Please join me as we pray for God’s anointing and vision for Willerup Church as we approach the Wisconsin Annual Conference vote, June 9, and to allow the disaffiliation to take place. Keep all the churches, clergy, staff and congregations as a top priority in your prayer life. It’s been a long road. God has been faithful. You have been faithful. It’s our time to accept the mantle of authority the LORD has placed upon us.

Something new is about to take place. We need to be ready: a holy people, prepared to do good works which Christ Jesus predestined for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Christ Jesus, our King of kings, has a role for Willerup to fulfill. New creation is possible. God’s nature is creative as the source. The Spirit, Son and Father bring order to chaos, a human from dirt, a nation from slavery, a Savior into the cosmos and new life through resurrection. A body rises from the dead.

God calls into being that which did not exist.

The Apostle Paul became obsessed with the resurrection. His letters to the Christians in Rome and Corinth present the most compelling evidence not only for the resurrection of Jesus. But, for the resurrection life we are to lead as Christians. Before the resurrection of Jesus, we were subjects of the ruler or prince of this world. All of us lived in that realm. (Ephesians 2:3) All succumb to the law of sin and death. (Romans 5:12-19)

Post-resurrection, resurrection new life is possible. Jesus himself states this plainly to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25-26) Humanity has another offer. Even though death is assured, death has no hold over us. Death is not the final answer. As disciples, followers, believers of Christ Jesus we become subjects of the King of kings and experience resurrection life here and now. Resurrection life isn’t so much about us getting into heaven, but getting heaven into you!

We have an obligation. (Romans 8:12) We are indebted to the risen King, ambassadors of His heavenly realm. Our new life, which we traded, belongs to Him. (Romans 8) Each of us has a commission and a mission to fulfill. So does our church. All this comes from the Spirit, Son and Father. Be ready! Something new is about to take place!

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
